Foot & Mouth Disease Update

Today's Market Report:

British Pork and Lamb is in very short supply, and the meat that is available has risen in price to reflect demand. Chicken will see a further significant increase in price as the week progreses, so too will the bacon.

English and Scotch Beef should stay faily static for a week or possible two because we are holding substantial stocks, during the maturation process.

With the continued ban on animal movements to the abbatoirs and the culling that has already started on the farms, we could be in a position where only imported meats are available!

Because of the market movements we shall be pricing all supplies on a daily basis from today. Please be assured that we will ONLY raise prices where we have actually paid more.

Started work on new site. This site has been produced in-house by Wilson (Sloane Street) Ltd, all digital pictures and wording is all our own work and all products shown are actual examples of our own meats. Should any of this material appear on other web-sites you are guaranteed to be looking at rip-offs!!! - which although flattering - is still very annoying.

Site primarily has been designed using Macromedia's Dreamweaver 3.0 software, design layout was with the help from the boys at Project Seven, and their invaluable (and very reasonable) design packs. As we are butchers with good computing and desktop publishing skills!!!... You need something to kick start you on design - Project Seven's design packs really fit the bill. Check out their link on the 'Up Front' sidebar.

All photography was produced in-house using our Olympus C2500L digital camera, with additional lighting. Downloaded and then edited with Adobe Photoshop 5.5, then optimised for the web using Macromedia's Fireworks (part of the Dreamweaver Suite).

Please feel free to contact the webmaster with views and comments, and any recommendations.

This site is optimised for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 (or later), which is able to take full effect of the Cascading Style Sheets - part of the DHTML standard. Should you be using Netscape Communicator 4 (or later) some CCS features will be missing.
